He Came. We Live.

100_1514God is.

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Gen. 1:1. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1.

He made us.

“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image;’ … male and female he created them.” Gen. 2:27.

To love him.

“God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.” Acts 17:27.

We sinned.

“When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.” Gen. 3:6.

100_1515We died.

“Sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.” Rom 5:12. “For the wages of sin is death.” Rom. 6:23.

We couldn’t reach Him.

[And man said,] “If only there were someone to mediate between us, someone to bring us together, someone to remove God’s rod from me, so that his terror would frighten me no more.” Job 9:33-34.

God was compassionate.

“[The Lord] saw that there was no one, he was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so his own arm achieved salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him.” Is. 59:16.

100_1516He came to us.

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11.

He died.

“With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.” Mark 15:37.

Death could not hold him.

“He has risen, just as he said.” Matt. 28:6.

We live.

100_1517“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

“To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.” Jude 24-25.

Merry Christmas.

    • Thanks Shelly. The pictures are from our son’s baptism, one of the greatest and most moving days for us ever! And it wouldn’t be possible for any of us without Christmas.

Absolutely! My son and daughter were both baptized last November, and I know I will never forget those memories. I hold them close to my heart.
